The How & Why of Simon Slieker

A career behind the decks spanning 14 years has taken Simon Slieker around the world, around the country and certainly inside every nook and cranny within Melbournes healthy electronic music scene. Talented and diverse, Slieker continues to forge ahead with a hectic schedule into 2008...

Simon has long been regarded in the upper echalon of Australian dj’s, but right now there is some serious talk going around about the sheer professionalism and mastery of his sets: soundscaped vistas of techno, minimal and progressive woven in such a way as to evoke the essence of what tribal trance could be. Rhythmic refrains of dancefloor terrain that will take you…

Through the art of dj'ing Simon Slieker works with mood and energy in a very tangible way. He stirs an ease out of which exhilaration flourishes. Through establishing a sense of boundary he creates the inexorable urge to journey. With true respect for the vulnerability of the dancefloor he creates the safety in which we are free to let go, and in the letting go, find our own path to ecstacy.
